In this top ten list, we count down the best signings Steve Evans made during his time as Rotherham United manager!

Steve Evans’ three-and-a-half years at Rotherham United was a rollercoaster for both him and the club. In that time, to say the Scotsman made a few signings would be a bit of an understatement!

Last week we posted an article looking at Evans’ worst signings while at the Millers, which was tough to whittle down in its own right.

But this one was even more difficult. Despite his flaws, Evans had a superb few years at Rotherham and in that short time, he became one of the club’s most successful ever managers.

The former Leeds United boss helped guide Rotherham through the divisions before consolidating in the Championship. In that time, he made some brilliant signings. Whether that be with shrewd loan moves or permanent signings: Evans and Rotherham utilised each of them during his reign at the New York Stadium.

With that said, along with a few honourable mentions, here is our countdown of the ten best signings Evans made as Rotherham United manager:

Here are some Evans signings who did well in their own right, but did not quite make the top ten:

  • Daniel Nardiello
  • Nouha Dicko
  • Danny Ward
  • Emiliano Martinez
  • Kirk Broadfoot
